Texas Health Insurance For Pre-existing Conditions

Texas Health Insurance For Pre-existing Conditions

A pre-existing condition is a medical issue that you’ve had previously prior to getting health insurance. One example of a pre-existing condition is diabetes. In the state of Texas, that would fall under the definition for pre-existing conditions. If you have health insurance in Texas, you may have to wait several months or years before the insurance will pay for claims in regard to that condition.

When you’re filling out the application for health insurance, it is required that you include the pre-existing condition. Not including it can subject you to not having additional claims paid or your policy may be cancelled. This stipulation holds true for those that have health insurance in Texas.

Your health insurance company in Texas may consider a pre-existing condition to be one where you have received treatment and care prior to having your current health insurance plan. With health insurance in Texas, pre-existing conditions can also be determined with an individual health plan. If you have an individual plan, they will look at your medical history from the past to the present, starting five years back. If you have an employer-sponsored plan, they go back to the last six months. Other health insurance plans use the last twelve months.

There are some health insurance companies that will refuse to cover you if you have a pre-existing condition. If they do cover you, then they can ask for a policy rider. A policy rider will not cover anything related to the treatment of that condition. For health care plans that are sponsored by your employer, there can be a waiting period of up to a year. The waiting period for individual health insurance plans in Texas is two years.

In the state of Texas, regardless of whether or not you have a pre-existing condition, you may still have to go through a waiting period. If that happens to you, the waiting period for pre-existing conditions begins on the first day of the waiting period. If you have health insurance in Texas that is an HMO plan, then you can have a waiting period of no more than three months.

If you already have health insurance in Texas and you’re switching plans, then you may not have to wait as long. If there is a gap before you get new health care coverage it has to be within two months. If there are any lapses after that, you may have to wait longer to get health insurance.

It’s very important to know the facts and details about pre-existing coverage with health insurance in Texas. If you have a pre-existing condition, there are still ways that you can get around the loophole. You will definitely need to let your health insurance carrier know that you have a pre-existing condition. Otherwise, you may find yourself without insurance. You will also be putting your health in danger if you’re not able to pay for the treatments yourself. Just because you have a pre-existing condition does not mean that you are in danger of not having insurance at all. However, you do need to know what you could be faced with if you don’t comply.

Here this nice Video about health insurance

David Himmelstein, Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard University, testifies at a hearing investigating ways to reduce the cost of health insurance for employers, employees and their families on April 23, 2009.

Find your answer for your own question related to health insurance

Can I reimburse myself health insurance costs from my company?
We used to have individual health insurance, and I would pay for it out of my own company (an S Corp). When we got insurance through my husband's employer, I stopped reimbursing myself.
He is paid for by the company, and then it costs extra to add myself and our child.

I was just going to deduct health insurance premiums on our Sch A, but we don't have enough other medical expenses to meet the limit.

Is it ligit to go ahead and reimburse myself the amount that it cost for the health insurance? Then it would be a business expense. Thanks.

your going to have to name an article on that before i believe a thing you’re saying here – but if you’re going to defend obama on this one, explain how obama said hw was doing this because of how expencive funding vet’s healthcare is, yet is talking about putting everybody else on the gov’s healthcare check via universal healthcare? why is it too expencive to care for those who serve but not for everybody else?

  2. Mien Fuhrer Obama, announced plans to start a seven million man personal army or Brown Shirt Gestapo

Meanwhile the Veterans Disarmament Bill was passed removing gun ownership from many Vets

Today’s story: Government Readies Youth Corps To Take On Vets

    Sieg Heil Mien Fuhrer!

Why are over half the comments on this video made by only two people?

  4. ImWilson1 says:

Wow Rush says Government run Health care is the best. And our Veterans deserve the best. Can’t have that inferior private health care.
I love how he has to pull his shirt out of his man- boobs all the time. LOL

  5. HoosierMP says:

Wilson…you are an ignorant fool…i am a veteran…i FULLY understand how this plan would’ve affected me…it is apparent that YOU do not…you make these allegations about “Rush’s spin”…what this idea would have done is make my private insurance have to pay for my injuries…thus resulting in employers NOT wanting to hire me BECUZ i would have an existing medical condition and A.) i may not be insurable B.) am a liability…So the vets would’ve gotten screwed BIG TIME…YOU are ignorant.

  6. HemiHead66 says:

It’s funny how you blast Obama for trying to find a way to better serve vets and say nothing about the Republicans for consistently voting against veterans health care. Especially John McCain. He’s the biggest bullshitter around. But when the election came around he voted for it. What a hypocrite.

  7. HoosierMP says:

A.) So we have established that Rush NEVER said “Gov’t healthcare is the best”…You tried to lie and spin it that way…
B.) This idea should have NEVER even been thought about…that it was even brought up is sickening…Obama tried to screw us veterans cuz he obviously doesn’t care about us veterans…
C.) VA and American Legion reps immediately came to our defense (their job)
D.) You can’t spin your way out of this…Obama screwed up…WOW…a president w/ no moral conscience…

  8. HoosierMP says:

Listen Wilson…The only “spin” is what you’re trying to sugar coat…i receive a disability check every month from the VA…i have to go to a VA hospital monthly….This idea by Obama, would’ve made ME use MY private insurance to pay for my treatment…That’s why vets were outraged…we break ourselves for this country, only to have Obama come up with this silly idea?? YOU need to know the FACTS…American Legion and VA reps were pissed and that’s why…you get it now?? No spin…Just FACTS!

  9. i never forget the spear. its the set up for the jackhammer, however in the case of obama the spear would probably be enough.

  10. ImWilson1 says:

You are right Limbaugh never said the VA health Care is the best.
You need to contact your local VA and ask them if Obama is trying to screw Veterans. He is working with Veteran groups to put together the best 2010 Budget for the VA. The idea was trying to increase resources for Veterans. Obama;s budget increases funds for the Department of Veterans Affairs from $98b now to $113b according to the budget summary. It also expands eligibility to 500,000 veterans that were not eligible.

  11. 5 STARS
    PATRIOTS RULE!!!!

  12. Over 25,000,000 US Veterans. oblama has no business being commander-in-chief. As I’ve said before, no experience, no experience, no experience,,,Not one day of executive experience in anything! And each day bh oblama is in office, he screws-up this country!

  13. ImWilson1 says:

Now lets stop for a moment and think. This proposal was put on the table while working on the details of the 2010 VA Budget Proposal.. It was openly discussed. He brought VSO and MSO leaders into the White House for an unprecedented meeting to discuss various aspects of the budget. With the third party billing issue, the administration was seeking to maximize the resources available for veterans. After hearing concerns it was dropped. Wow look we actually have a President that listens.

  14. ImWilson1 says:

As I said contact your VA and ask them. If you chose to believe Limbaugh’s spin that is your choice.
    Have a Nice Day

  15. HoosierMP says:

How about YOU contact YOUR VA rep and see what he has to say…the only one creating spin is YOU….Rush is telling it like it is…and this is coming from ME, an actual veteran that this “plan” would’ve affected…Just like a liberal to deny the truth….just like a liberal to try and be two-faced and screw over our veterans/soldiers…that’s what liberals are known for…

  16. HoosierMP says:

Wilson…you’re an idiot…Rush has never said Gov’t healthcare is “the best”…and as a veteran (that this plan Obama cooked up would’ve affected) i’m glad Rush reported it…Maybe you don’t understand how this would’ve affected us, but the bottomline is that Obama was looking to cut costs and wanted us (the vets) to pay for our own service related disablities…This idea was a smack in the face of ALL veterans and shows what Obama REALLY thinks of us…2012 Obama will be gone.

  17. pushups2345 says:

The VFW said they were successfull in making obama take it off the table – good thing, b/c VFW were pissed

  18. ImWilson1 says:

As I said contact your VA and ask them. If you chose to believe Limbaugh’s spin that is your choice.
    Have a Nice Day

  19. rednxrule says:

she is shittier than her commie husband…. two america haters, wake america, they are trying to destroy our society!

  20. HoosierMP says:

Actually i deal with the VA out of Chicago…i’m out of northwest indiana…
Obama tried to sneak this past everyone…he told Vet Orgs that he was looking to cut over $600 Million…and this was an expense…and what i am saying is that the FACT that Obama even CONSIDERED this idea; that he actually had to THINK about this idea; that is absolutely sick…and it shows what Obama REALLY thinks of the vets…and it was never a done deal, becuz WE were NOT going to get screwed over by him…

  21. HoosierMP says:

Wilson….i understand my benefits and what Obama has done (or hasn’t done) and what will do (or won’t do) for me…the Post 9/11 GI Bill is nice (it was in discussion under Bush’s Admin but Obama tries to take credit for it)….but facts are facts…this idea was going to screw vets BIG TIME…why would it even be thought about?? As for Obama “plans” for vets…those plans will be like his campaign promises…lies or just big ideas with no plan…You don’t screw the vets like he tried to do!!

  22. ImWilson1 says:

By your name I would think you possibly live in Indiana. If so you probably go to the VA in Indianapolis. Or if you are in S Indiana maybe you go to Louisville. Either way they will both tell you the same thing I have told you. This was never a done deal. That was why Obama contacted various Vet. Orgs to get their input. After concerns were raised the option was dropped. Now if this was as you say a liberal screwing over the Veterans why in the world would he bring in Reps. to get their input?

  23. ImWilson1 says:

As I said contact your VA and ask them. If you chose to believe Limbaugh’s spin that is your choice.
    Have a Nice Day.

  24. ImWilson1 says:

You do know that they already currently collect reimbursement from private insurers. At present the amount of money for veterans health services that the federal government seeks reimbursement for from third-party payers, the private insurers, is $2.5 billion. Obamas proposed fiscal year 2010 budget would have boosted that reimbursement collectible to $3.4 billion, roughly a 36 percent increase.
So the idea that you said should never been thought about already exists.
    Have a nice day.

  25. HemiHead66 says:

Hey Rush, if the Republicans are so big on veterans health care why didn’t they vote to close the corporate tax loopholes that would’ve provided their funding. I think one Republican senator voted to close the tax loopholes and the rest thought that money was better off going in some greedy bastards pocket instead of helping our wounded troops. And you’ve got some nerve talking about Michelle Obama. Go on the street and ask ordinary people if they know what it’s like for military families.
