A Minnesota Health Care Directive typically does not empower a health care agent to act on behalf of the principle until the principal lacks capacity to make those decisions. That is why it is a good idea to include specific language within the Health Care Directive that addresses this issue. Minnesota Section 145C.08 states that a health care agent acting pursuant to a health care directive has the same authority as the principal to recei (more…)

There is a definite trend to provide home health care whenever possible. The professionals in charge of health assistance looked at the services provided and many decided that people would heal more quickly sometimes if they were out of a hospital environment and in the comfort of their own home. State Senator Arthenia Joyner (D-Tampa) on Tuesday welcomed reassurances from the governor’s office that a move to transfer the innovative Office of Minority Health into a sprawling division within the Florida Department of Health would be rejected.
The decision came less than 24-hours after the Tampa Democrat sent a letter to Governor Charlie Crist, urging him to rethink his agency’s pending action.
