Individual Health Insurance Plan

Individual Health Insurance Plan

Individual health insurance coverage can be acquired with some careful researching of many diverse companies that offer health insurance plans and policies and the cost of an individual health insurance plan will differ from one insurance provider to another. Normally these plans are for individuals that are either self-employed or in some cases unemployed. When compared to an insurance plan that covers groups of consumers working for a small business, the coverage for an individual is more costly .
Perhaps the easiest way to be eligible for better health insurance rates and benefits is to instead forget about signing up for an individual health insurance plan and instead focus on finding a group health insurance plan that they can become a part of with other self employed people or by finding a job that offers such a plan as part of its benefits package.
Still trying to decide between group health insurance and an individual health insurance plan is a decision that can only be made by someone facing that situation. It poaches down to contrasting the two health insurance coverage plans in order to see what really the differences, similarities, advantages and disadvantages are between the two. Only then can a consumer can make the right choice and receive the perceived health insurance coverage they need and deserve.
Individual health plans come in two categories:
Managed care plans
Indemnity plans.
Comparatively Managed Care Health Plans are cheaper than indemnity plans. A managed care health plan is a good option if you want to lessen the cost of an individual health policy. Choice is something that you will need to give up if you decide to buy this plan.
Indemnity Plans are traditional health plans and are definitely more expensive than managed care health plans. The positive aspect here is that you can keep hold of the choice of choosing your health provider. The plan is best for the people who becomes frequently ill and depend only on their trusted doctor or hospital for their treatment.
Once you have decided upon the plan, compare a few individual policies to review their coverage. The best way to do this is to get online quotes and visiting state health department laws. Check for the coverage options and the benefits they provide. In case your friends too have bought individual health coverage, discuss with them their satisfaction level and the drawbacks, if any.

Does the state health department work at the national or state level?
I know this is a stupid question, but just because something is at the level of a state department it doesn't always mean they work for the state. So does the state health department work to protect health at the national, or state level?

Maybe not. He is trying to misdirect the people to from the real issue. Even if he was born in Hawaii, he is NOT a natural born citizen. To be a natural born citizen, it means that he was born in the United States, and had no allegiance to any other country. Obama’s father was a British Subject, and by British law, so was his son. Obama is not a natural born citizen, as required by the Constitution, and should have never been allowed on the ballot.

  2. BLCalifornia says:

    > There is something WRONG here.
    >If he really was born in Hawaii he would have released a certified copy of the birth certificate a long time ago.

  3. Dallouez says:

I don’t understand Barak has presneted “copies” of his Birth Cert why would he balk at showing us the real article. Hasn’t someone supeoned his Birth cert? Since the court didn’t dismiss the case WTF! Well looks like someone should sue the State of Hawaii governor and all parties for conspiricy to defraud the US!

Best to go to an independant agent. They will be able to tell you how far back the underwriting will require your medical records. Usually, it's 5-10 years. If you have not been treated in that time frame and your records reflect that, you should be fine. It is doubtful that a letter from your doctor would be very helpful.

  6. Savethefells says:

Isn’t this getting insulting to our intelligence? They can keep ‘secret’ all they want.. JUST NAME the ‘information’ on there.. IS OBAMA GOING TO KEEP THE INFORMATION FROM HIS WIFE MICHELLE AND CHILDREN ? Where was the actual Birthplace? Who was the Doctor ? Surely this is not asking too much. Obama says he wants to ‘aid’ the American people. One good start is ‘quieting’ these very concerned questions. We are not asking for the actual paper, we are asking for the Doctor’s name and/or hospital.

  7. Cash2112 says:

AP-ObamACORN is his personal Pravda. In addition to his *real* birth certificate, we are still waiting to review the Neo-Leninist’s university and medical records.

  8. voter08 says:

So. We have elected a foreign usurper. According to peoplespassions(.org), 24 potential Electoral College electors are filing action in court demanding Obama to release proof.

  9. SeekerNLife says:

This just stinks more and more by the day.
Even IF…and I am saying IF….Obama really was born in Hawaii.
Then why did he feel the need to post a FAKE Birth Certificate on his website?
What is on the real one, the one that these Hawaiian officials are saying is real, what is on that one that Obama doesn’t want the American People to see?

Even if McCain wins by a good margin, I hope that Berg presses on with his Case.
We need to know what Obama is hiding.

    There are ways around it.

Depending on what state you're in, and the nature of your business, you may be able to get group coverage for just you. The easiest way is to pick an independent agent have a sit down and work with him/her.

Without the hundred phone calls? You're looking at spending time online, hunting through the carrier websites for contact information and calling up the companies to get a quote. That's really the only way to do it.

The pre-tax deduction is most commonly referred to as a Section 125 POP, many carriers offer them alongside an insurance plan. You must set up the Section 125 in order to take advantage of the tax savings, however, otherwise you're SOL.

If you're in California, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to walk you through how to make this happen.

  11. The best place to start is by doing what you’re doing now – asking for personal recommendations. What kind of health insurance are you looking for? It might be a good idea to jot down a list of the different aspects of a health plan and then chart the differences between various plans you come across. Here’s an example:

    ·Monthly price (premium)
·Yearly deductible (amount you spend before the insurance company will start paying)
·Copay amount (amount you pay per service)
·Coinsurance amount (amount you split with the insurance company – usually a percentage; i.e., you pay 20 percent and the insurer pays 80 percent)
·Freedom of choice (can you visit whatever doctor you want?)
·Preventive medicine and routine doctor visits (does the plan include these?)
·Mental health (included in the plan; copay amounts; maximum number of annual visits).

I’d check out Consumer Reports (link below), America’s Health Plans (link below), US News & World Reports Best Health Plans, and whatever other informational resources you can find. I’d also talk with locally licensed health insurance agents. I’ve also included a couple of articles about choosing a health plan that might be useful. They are government-authored, but they’re actually pretty good (all links below).

HMOs (health maintenance organizations) are popular right now, and they usually include mental health coverage in their plans. A typical example is that you would pay a monthly fee and then a copay when you visit your therapist (usually around $50 for a plan with low monthly payments). One potential problem, though, is access to physicians. An HMO might not have the kind of mental health specialist you’re looking for. Before you enroll in an HMO, I would strongly urge you to look at their mental health specialist roster. For more choices, you might opt for a PPO (preferred provider organization) or a traditional fee-for-service plan.

As for organizations that have group health plans, try asking your state insurance department (link below). Some trade associations have group health plans and so do some church organizations

You should try visiting MostChoice.com. It’s a Web site that helps you shop for health insurance. They have free instant price quotes and policy information on health plans near you, but their specialty is getting you in touch with state-licensed agents. There’s no cost or obligation to buy insurance. You just fill out a short form and wait for the agents to contact you (within 48 hours). Have your questions ready and let them work until one of them delivers the plan that’s right for you. You might want to have a set amount you want to spend each month on insurance and tell the agents to work within those parameters.

He could have been born overseas and had his birth recorded in Hawaii, when his mother returned there. It is also possible that he was born in Hawaii, but he refuses to show anyone his birth records. Why? It is also very likely that he was adopted by his stepfather when he moved to Jakarta in 1967. He admits that he had citizenship in Kenya, and there has also been a birth certificate found for a Barack Hussein Muhammud Obama found in Canada.

  13. Bigone5555J says:

We need to do all we can to get the vote out for McCain/Palin. Rain or shine, get to the polls and vote. Do not listen to the polls. Do not slack off if you hear McCain is ahead, and do not loose hope, if you hear Obama is ahead. The Media is in Obama’s pocket and they want him to win.

  14. Bigone5555J says:

Yes, I have heard that. That in it self would prove that Maya’s Birth Certificate was ill gotten. When Ann Dunham married Lolo Soetoro, she moved to Jakarta and became a citizen of Indonesia. At that point she lost her US citizenship. So she would have lied about being a US citizen when she registered Maya’s birth. There was no dual citizenship agreement between the USA and Indonesia until 2006.

I’m in OH and I too swear I have my birth certificate. It’s genuine. But, it’s not from Ohio, it’s from CA. Of course you can see it anytime you’d like. Why would I want to hide it?
Obama + campaign million + recent Hawaii trip + statement in his book
“Dreams…” that he once found his birth certificate in a book (maybe he still had it in his posession..) = State officials in Hawaii suddenly announce they have his birth certificate. But no one can see it. I’m not biting.

  16. Hi,

Generally it is not a good idea to have more than one health insurance plan because only one will be your primary coverage. You need to be careful if you want secondary coverage. Many policies will not allow you to get a policy if you already have a policy.

Having said that, there are supplemental plans that pay YOU instead of the doctor or hospital. They are with companies such as Aflac and are supplemental plans. They are set up so that you get a certain dollar amount for each doctors visit, emergency room visit, hospital stay, or surgery.

While I represent individual insurance companies I don't generally recommend these supplemental type plans unless you go with an HSA where you don't have co payments and you have a high hospital deductible.

But you get what you pay for with insurance. If you want low co payments and deductibles then your premium will be high. I would recommend getting a primary plan that is good enough and saving money to pay co payments and deductibles.

    I hope this helps.

Since u are healthy you should consider getting off COBRA ASAP. An individual/family plan should be almost half the cost of the COBRA.By keeping COBRA you run the risk of developing a medical problem that will make you ineligible for a individual/family health plan later on. When the COBRA time period ends you will be in trouble. Get off of it now. Most plans I sell are now $1,000 ded or $2,500 ded. Run the quotes and see what premiums make sense to you. You will have to pay this premium yourself and your company cannot deduct it pre-tax anymore but if you want a GREAT tax deduction look at an HSA plan. Look at the $5,450 family deductible plan and you can make a yearly contribution of this amount to your HSA and get a top-line tax ded on your IRS 1040 (line 28). The monies can then be used for qualified medical expenses subsidized, in effect, by the tax savings.

  21. gigglinn says:

It is not against the law if it is set up properly.

Typically the best way to set this up is to have the employer set up a medical reimbursement plan (sometimes called a Health Reimbursement Arrangement or HRA).

This way everyone gets to enjoy the cheaper prices of individual health insurance instead of a group plan, everyone gets to pick and choose the plan and company that they want, and the employer still gets to help pay (and receive the corresponding tax deduction).

I don't know your ages what deductables you have, do you have drug plans, co pays if you go tot he doctor,

A good plan for my son who is 6 years old costs me almost 150 dollars a month,

I am over 50 and my health plan costs me over 600 a month just for me, not for a couple, The plan for my wife and I is over 1000 a month for us not counting our son,

So 400 a month sounds dirt cheap to me. How much is the company still paying toward it, this may be a 600 dollar plan that you get for 400.

I am an insurance specialist in Michigan, so I cannot say exactly for your state, but in Michigan there are very few insurance plans that cover anything for infertility. I know Blue Cross covers 50% of infertility treatments, but that EXCLUDES IVF. So I would be very cautious when checking into plans, as they may state coverage for infertility treatment, but may have an exclusion for IVF.

    Best of luck to you!!

It is different for each insurance plan, your husband will just have to ask his new job how their insurance plan works. There usually are probation periods when starting a new job. If it takes longer than you want to wait you can be covered through M.A. for everything related to pregnancy, no matter what your situation is or how much your household income is. A friend of mine was covered through M.A. during her pregnancy and she was really suprised to find out there are no limits to who they will cover. It was something that I was worried about for the future when my husband is no longer in the military and we won't be covered through them anymore.

  31. Thanks for posting. I looked at the articles in the links, and noticed something strange.” In the AP article, it says “State officials say there’s no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.”

But in the Honolulu Advertiser’s page, it says “State officials say there’s no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawai’i.”

Note the apostrophe between the two i’s in Hawai’i? Maybe this is why Hussein X thinks there are 57 states? Does he count states that support him twice?

Mr Berg should look into it.

  32. So long Obama proves Hawaii isn’t a state and territory of the U.S. However I really do believe Obama was born in Hawaii.

  33. Kirsten S says:

The best way to find individual health insurance is to visit a local independent agent. This person knows that market in your area and can find you the best plan for your situation from the 1000 plans that are available. They don't charge you anything for the service.

You could also try looking for policies on-line if you can spend several days to do research. However, with the on-line policies you don't know if the company will even accept you because you have to fall within their height and weight guidelines and they don't tell you what those are on-line. Also, each company is different if you have a pre-existing condition and they don't tell you those guidelines either. This is another way the independent agent can help.

  35. Bigone5555J says:

Yes, it just doesn’t make much sense. Maybe Ann Dunham adopted him? Andy Martin thinks he’s the son of Frank Marshall Davis. Michelle has already said that his parents weren’t married. It just makes no sense. Even if he were born in Hawaii, there is still the issue of his citizenship in Kenya and Indonesia. I know one of our Congressmen went to Indonesia, trying to buy up all the records of Obama a while ago. So Indonesia looks like the real problem for him, if the Courts would listen.

  36. Belle19700 says:

Good grief! Who is this man called Barack Obama? He needs to disclose his records from college also. This is looking worse, and worse. They should have done this 6 months ago, before he’s so close to being elected. If he is disqualified, does that mean McCain is automatically elected? I’m so confused.

  37. Excellent work! Thank you for this commentary! Partly because of your great work McCain is pulling ahead! Your a great American!

  42. *Bella* says:

Rather than decide which one is better from the price, why don't you look at the COVERAGE and DEDUCTIBLES and compare them.

My guess is, the $43 plan is a major medical policy that doesn't cover little stuff, and has a massive deductible. And the $137 has a much smaller deductible. But you, yourself, have to weigh the savings vs. deductible factor. And save the difference in premiums, if you pick the high deductible policy, so that you HAVE the money to pay the deductible if you need it.

  43. Annie says:

No. By "reasonable", I'm assuming you mean $100 a month, or less.

Health insurance for someone in perfect health, at your age, is going to run between $600 and $1,000 a month. That's just what it costs.

If someone is offering you something in the $100 to $200 range, it's either a fake policy, a scam, or a discount plan – not insurance.

  44. Randi K says:

I would stay a way form you auto home agent they are experts in property and causality insurance and health insurance is an entire different field. You should search yellowpages.com for a health insurance broker in your area. They will be able to help you sort through many different companies and plans to find the one that balances what you consider affordable and the benefits you will receive.

  45. 360mommy says:

Usually, it would make more sense to have everyone one the same plan.

However, I have heard of circumstances where some members of the family have a separate policy, because of one family member's health issue. The healthy family members can stay on a lower premium policy, while the family member with the health complication goes on their own policy.

It really just depends on the circumstances involved. Make sure to get quotes for each scenario, so that you can make a fully informed decision.

  46. I appreciate that this is being investigated because Obama is a fraud, but I don’t think anything is going to be done about it.

If Barack Hussein Obama wins, who is going to do what it takes to remove him? And how would a successor be chosen? Biden?

Hopefully he will not be elected.

  47. No, it doesn't work that way. Most carriers require you to agree to cancel your existing policy when you apply for your new one, and if you have two policies one is going to be primary, and the other secondary. You will reap the benefits of the better plan, but where they overlap, only one will pay.

What you might want is be a supplemental or limited benefit plan to go along with your insurance policy. These are not insurance policies and I usually don't recommend them. I think your money would be better spent buying a better single policy, or an HSA type of plan and banking the savings.
