Online patient medical records are taking off after Google recently released ‘Google Health’ and Microsoft a few months earlier released ‘HealthVault’
Online medical records will allow patients to access their complete medical records (have you ever wondered what’s in your paper file, now you’ll know) wherever they go. With most people moving many times in a life time and seeing many different doctors this will lead to more informed and better healthcare decision making as their complete records follow them wherever they go.
Normally when people move they usually just start a new file with their new doctor, leaving their medical history behind. When they also see different specialists these doctors will likely not see the patients complete medical history and just base decisions on the current diagnosis, including emergency situations. Now these doctors will have a lifetime of medical history at their fingertips instantly.
This also cuts down on a great deal of administration expenses and delays which may be reflected in lower healthcare insurance premiums if implemented.
The technology has been available for years to make this a reality for everyone, it will improve patient healthcare decisions and cut down on administration expenses. So why haven’t we put everyone’s medical history online previously?
For starters, current healthcare records are primarily on massive amounts of paper, about 14% is currently stored on a computer in the USA. Transferring the mountains of medical records to a digital format is no small task and could induce more than a few cases of carpal tunnel syndrome typing all that data in. Most other industrialized countries have 50-90% of their records currently stored on a computer.
So why has the USA been so slow to put medical records on a computer?
In the USA hospitals are really business’s, and they don’t want to share information with their competition. Why should they help a patient/customer go see another doctor at another hospital? So they will drag their feet as long as possible.
Despite this Google and Microsoft are convincing organization and many people to volunteer and join their programs. These eager volunteers may be in for a bit of a surprise down the road.
Medical record privacy laws were written 12 years ago and addressed doctors, pharmacists and patients (HIPAA: Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). There are no references to anything that may cover Google and Microsoft. In other words you will need to trust these large multibillion dollar corporations to look out for your best interests. Most of you are probably having a good chuckle after that last sentence.
Why should you care if Google or Microsoft sells or grants access to your medical records to the highest bidders?
Those bidders will be insurance companies and it would be pure gold to them. They could raise premiums or even deny you health insurance based on the slightest medical problems you have, and if you have a ‘suspicious’ gene it gets worse. Now you can adversely affect your children and relatives seeking medical insurance as they may be deemed carriers of this questionable genetic trait because of their relation to you.
Then employers will be bidding on those precious records. Perhaps they will conclude you are likely going to cost them a lot of medical expenses, therefore you can forget about a promotion or if you are applying for a job you’re out of luck.
These online medical records have the potential for great benefits but until legislation to protect patients catches up with the technology those early volunteers signing up are in for a big surprise down the road, after all, Google and Microsoft are interested in the health of their bottom line, not your medical health.

Here's how Google explains, in its own words, how they arrive at trend information:
"Hot Trends takes this list to a new level, providing an up-to-date snapshot of what's on our collective mind – from current events to daily crossword puzzle clues to the latest celebrity gossip. For each Hot Trends result, the associated Google News, blog searches and Google web search results appear, giving users greater context for each result."
This text is taken directly from Google's press release on the trends' results.

webmd is still the best and most widely used online health program. it is quoted on most of the major news networks when discussing new health treatments and is widely used by health professionals.
There are not any states that require it but there are some jurisdictions such as San Francisco for its employees. Some private businesses such as General Motors do have coverage for their employees. Mind you this is health care for a transsexual rather than transgender.

UPS insurance will also cover it.
great
Organic green tea is the best. Green tea has far less caffeine than coffee has. In fact you can drink 3 cups of green tea and the total caffeine content will be less than 1 cup of coffee.
Furthermore, green tea is loaded with anti-oxidants which help prevent cancer development in cells. It also keeps breath clean, has fluoride in it which prevents dental cavities. Green tea has lots of benefits. you can just google "green tea benefits" to check it out.
Organic green tea is better than green tea. For example organic green tea bags are unbleached, where as green tea bags maybe bleached.
A U.S. social health care probably would be a disaster. I think a better way to stop the declining quality of health care, and sky rocketing cost, is to consider expanding consumer protection laws to health care. Currently their is no cap on what hopsitals, pharmeceutical companies, and health care companies want to charge.

Based on your question I would suggest that you need a trusted adviser to help you through the process of purchasing health insurance so that you understand what you are purchasing. Check with the agent that writes your home or auto insurance he/she can provide you a health insurance proposal that takes into account your budget and health status. He or she can answer questions as to what is and is not covered by the policy, explain deductibles and co-pays and show you the hospitals and doctors that participate in the network.
Ultimately, you are the one who determines what is the best insurance because you decide what right balance is between affordability and policy benefits.
If you choose a plan that covers everything i.e. doctors office visits, prescription drugs, preventative health benefits, maternity coverage, low deductibles, low co-pays as well as vision and dental benefits your monthly premiums will be significant.
On the other hand if you are young, healthy and use the health care system sparingly you could consider a plan that covers only the major health catastrophe. If that is too scary consider a plan with a higher in hospital deductible, higher co-pays for doctor's office visits and perhaps not cover prescription drugs.. Either of these approaches will result in a lower monthly premium. You then can use the monthly premium savings to pay for the occasional doctor visit or prescription and still come out ahead.
Some are going to suggest you go to their site so that they earn a few pennies on a "click through". Some are going to suggest going on line to get a quote but you probably already know that there is much more to health insurance than price. Some might even suggest a discount plan as the "best and cheapest" approach but that is not insurance at all.
Any of the big job sites,,, Monster, Career Builder, etc…. will list these jobs. The key to making it easy,,, is to set up an automatic search which emails you with matches.
Then the hardest part is putting in the keywords on the search. Use these,,,,
EHS
Environmental Health and Safety
Safety Manager
OSHA
EPA
CSP
ASP
CHWM
Also,, check out the web site for the "Board of Certified Safety Profesionals"…. I think it's http://www.bcsp.org …….
Give that a try,,, good luck.
That is the million dollar question. It's worth more than 10 points
Each search engine likes and ranks different things when they index a site… and they change it often. So, just when you think you got it figured out, they can change the rules.
All search engines like content on the pages (at least 2 or 3 paragraphs on each page). They love content that changes on a regular basis. This content should be stuff your customers or visitors should want to read. The search engines are smart enough to figure out if you are just repeating a bunch of key words over and over.
The search engines also like links to other sites, but they hate link farms. A link farm is a website that just puts a bunch of links up in exchange for a link to their site on yours.
Name your pages to match your keywords, like fitness.html or health.html Also, name your pictures as the keywords you are using as well.
Don't expect overnight results. With health and wellness being a billion dollar industry your competition probably has a full time SEO guy tweaking their pages regularly.
Good luck.
Use META tags on your pages… all your pages. Use different content in the tags for evey page.
<meta name="Description" content="your description here">
<meta name="Keywords" content="your keywords here in a comma seperated list… dog, cat, animals">
I dont think i can help you on that sorry,
I personally will not use it. OK now that we got that cleared, let's talk about it =P
The far fetch crazy opinion: I believe this tactic is one step closer to the most powerful corporation in the world. They will be the backbone to the future candidates running for president. They will slowly take over the supreme court and change laws to favor their all-mighty corporation. Soon they will manage to hire their own personal military from Russia. From there, they will invade small countries and slowly build the largest nation of men. The civilians will be known as Googvilians and life as we know it, would be GOOGLE.
Ok Ok Ok, a bit too far fetch, but who knows, it may happen and when it does, I will be there to tell you "I told you so".
In reality, it's not that extreme. At first I was thinking "Oh crap, Google is the next monopoly for all businesses ", but then realize the comments made 10 years ago about the internet (let me explain…). I was thinking of all the times back then when people thought you were crazy for inputting your credit card number or social security on the Web. Now that seems to be normal for when ever you sign up for an account that deals with money. I mean shoot, I probably have 20 companies that know my SS#. So to me people's reactions will change eventually towards this new move.
I believe soon most people will be posting their medical information on the internet. It may not be in 5 or 10 years, but it is bound to become a common thing in world (as far as people that use the internet).
Well that's my 2 cents on that.
Check out the links below.
The entire continent of Europe has better health care system than ours. Or do you want to compare our Health Care system with African nations?
Try this site:
searchenginewatch.com
That's a good place to start, so you won't make any mistakes when first making your web site.
There's lots of ways to advertise your site, from paying to asking for reciprocal links for free…but watch out for the "link farms" where you can sign up for reciprocal links and they take yours…google will not be happy.
Don't pay for search engine submission…do it yourself to only three search engines: yahoo, google and msn. All the little search engines will crawl the big guys with time. With google it may take up to six months before they recognize your site…so when you get your site, enter it into google.
Make sure your keywords match your content on each page you have on your site. meta keywords.
I've also found htmlgoodies real helpful to make yourself a site. Don't go for the "What you see is what you get" Template sites: wysiwyg If too many people have that same templet, google thinks of your site as being "spam" site.
Hmmm…well that's enough for today…you've got lots to learn.
Wish you the best.
Awesome
You can't ask Google to unindex a page with your personal details; you'll have to contact the owner/admin of that page and ask them to remove you from the page; once he/she removes you, the next time their site gets crawled by google robots and gets reindexed; your info won't be there. Right now you come up as a keyword because you exist on that site as a keyword; if the sites removes you, google bots will scan the site again and reindex without you in it as a searchable keyword.
Great stuff Aaron – although I tired using this tool nut it didnt work for some reason..
